Power choices start with a 270-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four that runs through the eight-speed automatic. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 makes 285 horsepower and comes with a six-speed manual on most trims, though four-door buyers can choose the automatic. Both 392 models, the Willys and the Moab, carry the 470-horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V-8.

Rubicon hardware is aimed at rocky ground: a 4:1 Rock-Trac case, lockers front and rear, and a front stabilizer bar that disconnects electronically for more wheel travel. With the manual gearbox and the available 4.88 axle, Jeep says a Rubicon reaches a 100:1 crawl ratio. The EPA rates a four-door with the turbo at 21 mpg combined, and Jeep says a properly equipped four-door Rubicon’s 5,000-pound towing rating is best-in-class.

Jeep says the 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen in every 2027 Wrangler is the largest in its class. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and navigation comes built into the Sahara, Rubicon and 392 models for drives out toward Lake Owyhee.

Ahead of the driver, every trim above the base Sport gets a 7-inch cluster display. Off-Road Info Pages report pitch and roll, the 392 models carry programmable auxiliary switches that Rubicon buyers can add, and the Sahara and 392 models play through an Alpine premium sound system.

Finance Application

Standard protection on every Wrangler includes advanced multistage front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags for both front occupants, Hill-Start Assist for steep grades, tire pressure monitoring and the ParkView rear backup camera.

Higher trims add driver assistance. Sahara, Rubicon and 392 buyers get Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus as standard, while the Sport S and Willys include it in a package. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-path detection and ParkSense rear park assist are standard on the Sahara and 392 models and available on the Sport S, Willys and Rubicon.

Nappa leather is reserved for the Rubicon X and the two 392 models, the Sahara uses McKinley-trimmed seats with power adjustment up front, and the Sport, Willys and Rubicon come with cloth. Four-door Wranglers seat five and two-doors seat four.

Cold eastern Oregon mornings are easier with the heated front seats and heated steering wheel that come on the Sahara and four-door Rubicon, and the 392 models have heated front seats as well. For cargo, Jeep’s latest published figures give the four-door 31.7 cubic feet behind its rear seat and 72.4 cubic feet with that seat folded, and tie-down loops in the floor hold the load in place. Jeep also calls the Wrangler’s toolless door removal class-exclusive.

Wheels start at 17 inches on the Sport and Rubicon, and the Rubicon adds rock-protection sill rails, while the Sahara moves up to 18-inch machined wheels with side steps. The 392 models and the Rubicon X come with 35-inch tires, and the Xtreme 35-Inch Tire Package adds them to Willys and Rubicon models.

The roof is the Wrangler’s other big choice. Most trims leave the factory with a Black Sunrider soft top, and a three-piece hardtop or, on four-door models, the Sky One-Touch Power Top are the alternatives. New 2027 editions include the Sarge, the Laredo, the Smoky Mountain and the JL-2A.
