Winter weather got your windshield wipers on the fritz? Get a great deal on a new pair with our special offers on parts and service here at Ontario Auto Ranch

Well folks, the with the holiday season behind us and Ground Hog Day less than a week away, we're sure many folks are anxiously awaiting news of whether spring is just around the corner or the worst days of winter are still to come. Unfortunately, if the latter is true, then many drivers here in Oregon and nearby Idaho are going to need to prepare for ice, snow, and of course, heavily salted roads ahead. Now, one of the best things you can do is make sure your wiper blades are fresh and ready for the coming weather. So, here are some tips from our service technicians here at Ontario Auto Ranch on assessing whether or not your windshield wiper blades are due for a replacement.

  • Check for metal corrosion around wiper joint
  • Check for perforations in wiper's squeegee edge
  • Make sure rubber squeegee is flexible without cracking or tearing
  • Make sure the rubber squeegee makes strong, unbroken contact with the windshield
  • Check to see if the wiper's edges are squared, not rounded

Typically, you should replace your wiper blades roughly every six months, but if you notice your wipers are skipping, streaking, or squeaking, it's a good idea of wipe down the rubber squeegee with a damp paper towel to remove excess oil and debris. If that doesn't fix the problem, you'll want to get a fresh set of wiper blades. Luckily, we happily carry an array of genuine Mopar parts including wiper blades here at Ontario Auto Ranch. And with our service and parts coupons you can even save some money while you're at it!
